Presenting an evening with
Jennifer Waits & Brian Mast of
Thursday, September 19, 6:30-8:30pm
At a private home in Glen park, San Francisco
We’re kicking off the harvest season with Waits-Mast! Founded by Brian Mast and Jennifer Waits in 2007 and inspired by the small community of winemakers in Anderson Valley, the couple set off to produce small lots of single-vineyard Pinot Noir from independently owned vineyards in Anderson Valley and Mendocino County. The goal of their small production (<1,000 cases) winery is to show the characteristic diversity of Pinot Noir across a relatively small region.
The wines are featured in some of the top restaurants in the country and have received critical attention, with Top 100 wines accolades in the San Francisco Chronicle, Wine & Spirits, and Wine Enthusiast. The wines are crafted in San Francisco with the expertise of winemaker Shalini Sekhar, who has worked with Brian and Jennifer for seven years.
Waits-Mast makes a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc and has allocated their last few cases for this Winemaker Salon. They will kick off the tasting with this white wine, and then explore the diversity of their Pinot Noir vintages and vineyard sources in Mendocino and Anderson Valley - from coastal regions where grapes struggle to ripen to fog-bound valley sites to mountaintop vineyards that bask in the sun.
